A friend and I owned a cupcake cafe called… you guessed it… Bliss Bakery! It created my lifelong obsession with classic childhood desserts that offer endless flavor possibilities. With challenges from the 2008 recession, we closed the bakery and I moved to Mexico to teach English and learn Spanish. It was here that I would eat from puscharts in the streets the Mexican paleta – A frozen treat on a stick made with real fruit and dairy, and not the artificial fructose color water I grew up with. I had to bring this to The Bay in my own way!
Taking all the flavor ideas I had developed with the bakery, I began making pops at home with dry ice to simulate flash freezing.
I spent months mixing more fruits and eating my way to more popsicle sticks than one can imagine. It certainly felt that way at least. I started by working with local businesses and “popping” up in front of their stores with my cart to sell on corners and perfect the menu.
I soon found out people couldn’t wait for the next festival to get some Bliss – I started getting hired to cater all kinds of events! And with this new event catering focus, I’ve been dedicated all these years to dreaming up new ways people can make their events more personal. Because the memory of those tasty pops is only made stronger with the memory of all that special customization!
And after many years of growing Bliss Fans one by one, we continue to bring our deliciousness anywhere it’s needed, whether it’s a birthday party, wedding, or corporate event!
